Liverpool are once again watching the performances of France striker Randal Kolo Muani with great interest.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who have today reiterated Liverpool’s fascination with the forward. The Reds are said to have been ‘seduced’ by Muani’s qualities and profile, as they continue to scout him closely.
Liverpool missed out on signing the 24-year-old last summer, as he chose to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer. Since then, Muani has continued his impressive form. Scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists in 22 games, the Frenchman earned a late call-up to his nation’s World Cup squad.
It’s claimed that those noteworthy figures have led to Eintracht slapping a price-tag of around £69m on Muani. Obviously, they stand to make a huge profit from the free signing of last summer.

Whether Liverpool are put off by that figure might not matter, though. That’s because Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly very interested. In fact, Spurs are said to be so interested that they met the player’s representatives just last month.
Some unnamed Italian clubs are also claimed to have liked what they’ve seen from Muani of late.
Liverpool not giving up on Muani
Liverpool could have been forgiven for giving up on Muani having lost out to Eintracht last summer. But there really is a lot to like about the forward.
He’s quick, versatile and has an eye for goal. As a free transfer, he really couldn’t have been more attractive to the Reds. That attraction could be dampened by the hefty price-tag his current club have quoted, but perhaps not.

Thierry Henry is obviously a huge fan of Muani’s and he certainly knew a thing or two about scoring goals. Back in September 2021, the Arsenal legend hailed the then Nantes player. Coming from an icon like Henry, that’s high praise for the young man.
That doesn’t mean that he’s worth £69m, but it’s interesting to note nevertheless.
Also of interest is the fact that Muani has managed to force his way into a stacked France squad. Although he was only included after injury to Christopher Nkunku, it’s still a big achievement.
Predictably, Muani hasn’t been able to show off his skills too much in Qatar. He did play the full 90 minutes of France’s 1-0 loss against Tunisia, but rather toiled in an under-strength side.
It’s unlikely that the Frenchman will get a chance to put England to the sword on Saturday, then. But if he does manage to get on the pitch, it sounds like Liverpool will be watching.
