Real Madrid have been told of developments between Liverpool and Jude Bellingham, according to reports. The race is heating up.
This comes from Bild journalist Christian Falk on Twitter. He says that Jude Bellingham‘s management have talked with Real Madrid. They did not have good news for Los Blancos, however.
“The Management of Jude Bellingham informed Real Madrid that Liverpool actually is leading the race for a transfer of Bellingham this summer,” wrote Falk.
That comes after claims from Falk on the Anfield Wrap that the player would choose the Reds. Talks with Jurgen Klopp are going well, it seems, and his family prefer a move to Merseyside.
Real Madrid might find themselves failing here.
Real Madrid v Liverpool for Jude Bellingham
There are other clubs in play here but Real and Liverpool top the pile. That’s always been reported as the case.
And regardless, the Reds appear to lead the race ahead of anyone. There’s just one ‘problem’, as Falk again highlighted on the Anfield Wrap.
He says that Borussia Dortmund want around £130m for Bellingham. Liverpool, however, want to pay around £86m. That quite clearly isn’t going to get this one over the line and we’re amazed if it’s true.

It can only be a negotiation tactic, honestly. Liverpool can’t possibly believe that Dortmund would accept that number, given the world’s richest clubs want Bellingham. They don’t even have a rush to sell as there’s no expiring contract here.
So if Liverpool could just find a bit of extra cash, it sounds like Bellingham is theirs. It’s a situation that the Reds haven’t really been in before – here’s the most in-demand player on the planet right now and he’s actively wanting to move to Anfield.
Messing this up over a lack of funds would be incredibly difficult to accept. Liverpool, surely, can find a way around this.
