Peter Crouch claims people tend to miss the things Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson brings to the table for England.
Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, the former Reds striker believes the 32-year-old has deserved his place in Gareth Southgate’s XI, and that he warrants a start against France on Saturday.

“Henderson, I thought you know, justified with the goal, but I just think he gives us just a little bit more in these knockout games,” Crouch said.
“I think he bosses it, and people miss the fact that, you know, what he brings.
“And yeah, listen you know, he may have given a few passes away or whatever, but I think he warrants his place.”
Crouch says Henderson has warranted his place
Looking at the differences Henderson has brought to the Three Lions in their last couple of games, it is fair to say the Anfield skipper deserves to be in Southgate’s starting XI.
Most obviously, he brings great leadership and a wealth of experience to the team. He is a real commander on the pitch, as he is constantly heard barking orders and praising his teammates.
With that comes a figure for the younger players to look up to. Featuring alongside Henderson in the midfield is 19-year-old Jude Bellingham and 23-year-old Declan Rice. Although they are two extremely talented players, the reassurance of the Reds captain seems to put them at ease in these high-pressure knockout games.

Furthermore, the Liverpool man is an absolute machine in the middle of the park. He is forever sprinting up and down the pitch as a box-to-box midfielder. When teammates go pushing forward, he sits. When they’re back in their own third, he pushes on. This read of the game has been critical to England’s success recently.
Therefore, it will be fully justified if the Three Lions boss decides to start Henderson alongside Bellingham and Rice in the midfield against France on Saturday.
