Gary Lineker was in awe of Jude Bellingham as he played for England against Senegal on Sunday. Liverpool reportedly want to sign the player.

Jude Bellingham played his first World Cup knockout game on Sunday and put in a performance to remember. England were great as a whole, controlling the game relatively well for a Last 16 tie. Bellingham, though, was the standout.

He was involved in both first-half goals, including an assist for Jordan Henderson’s strike. The teenager became the youngest England player to assist at a World Cup in the process.

The watching Gary Lineker certainly loved what he saw. He absolutely raved about Bellingham in a series of Tweets during the game.

“Goodness me, Jude Bellingham is unbelievably good,” he wrote. “He’s the leader in this team. His parents must be so proud. Love him.”

“Sensational from Bellingham again, he does everything,” he went on to say.

And that would be why there’s such competition to sign him. Everyone knows Liverpool are trying to push their way to the front of queue in order to do so. The latest reports claim they feel confident of meeting his wage demands – but we’ll see if that’s the case once this tournament is over.

After all, Lineker isn’t the only one loving these performances. Everyone watching can see just how good Bellingham is and he’s increasing the interest in him with every passing game. Here was the biggest of the lot and he delivered.

Liverpool know they’ll face competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid for Bellingham. If they manage to pull this off, it’ll go down as the biggest signing in the Reds’ illustrious history.
