Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier has claimed that reported Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham is ‘world-class.’
Both players have been called into England’s World Cup squad for this month’s tournament. And speaking to the Under The Cosh podcast, Trippier praised the player who Liverpool are said to be desperate to sign.
“Top. For such a young guy, he’s what, eighteen? Him and Phil [Foden] are unbelievable,” gushed the Newcastle right-back. “He’s just so mature for his age, the way he plays, the way he manages his game, he’s world class now. He’s unbelievable.”
Bellingham is one of the most sought-after players in world football. At just nineteen, he has the ability to achieve whatever he wants in the game.
Fingers crossed that it’s at Liverpool, and at Anfield, that he can realise those achievements.

Right then, who’s ready for the World Cup? No, us neither. Just as Liverpool hit a little bit of form in a pretty wretched season, they break for over a month. Typical.
There are few, if any, positives of holding world sport’s biggest tournament in the middle of the season.
But one upshot of it is that Liverpool fans will get the chance to assess a few of their club’s transfer targets.
In that respect, Bellingham will be front and centre in Reds’ supporters’ minds. The 19-year-old has been rumoured to be Liverpool’s top target for a long while now, and the battle for his signature is now entering the final stretches.
Having been an option from the bench in the Euros of 2021, the teenager could be a starter for England this time around.
How he handles that expectation on the biggest stage in football will say a lot about his mentality.
One thing Bellingham is often lauded for is his mentality and maturity. If he can take this World Cup in his stride, this will be more evidence of that.
Not that Liverpool will need any more convincing. The Reds have reportedly been watching Bellingham over this weekend, to add to their extensive scouting of him. His qualities are obvious to all who see him play. Come to Liverpool, Jude!
