Liverpool scouts watched reported top transfer target Jude Bellingham live in the flesh on Friday night.
Bellingham was in action for the final time before the imminent World Cup, as Borussia Dortmund loss 4-2 at Borussia Monchengladbach. And according to 90min, Liverpool’s talent-spotters were in attendance.
But the England midfielder reportedly wasn’t the only player on the Reds’ radar. It’s claimed that Liverpool were keeping an eye on Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko and Gladbach’s Marcus Thuram, too.
By the sounds of it, this idea wasn’t unique to Liverpool, though. 90min report that Manchester United also had eyes on the same trio as their North West rivals.
Meanwhile, scouts from Tottenham Hotspur were also said to be watching Thuram and Moukoko.

Liverpool scout trio in Germany
At this point, you’d have to wonder what more scouting can be done on Bellingham. From watching the 19-year-old a handful of times you can see that he’s a world beater.
Legends of the game have been waxing lyrical over him for some time now. Alan Shearer called him a ‘potential superstar’ via The Athletic recently, a view which Thierry Henry echoed while watching Bellingham for CBS Sports (05/10/22).
Liverpool have surely collected all the data they need on a player who will be their top target in the first half of 2023.
As a result, you’d have to conclude that the other two players mentioned here are of slightly more interest.

Moukoko in particular is a player who should excite Liverpool fans. The Reds have been rumoured to be positioning themselves in the event that the 17-year-old doesn’t sign a new contract in Germany.
Thuram, meanwhile, is a player who has reportedly been on Liverpool’s shortlist for a number of years.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Reds make a play for all three of this talented trio over the coming months.
Should scouts feel they need a second watch of any, or all of them, they can do so at the World Cup. Following Thuram’s late inclusion in the France squad, all three will now be representing their country’s in Qatar.
