Journalist David Ornstein says ‘every club’ he speaks to wants to fight Liverpool for Jude Bellingham. The player is a ‘dream signing’.

The race for Jude Bellingham is seriously hotting up – everyone is talking about it after his display against Manchester City this week. The midfielder looks like a world-beater and most expect him to depart Borussia Dortmund next year.

The Telegraph claim that Liverpool lead this particular race. The Reds have been linked for a long time, after all. But they’re certainly not the only team competing as the firing pistol is readied.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein gave his beliefs on the chase for Bellingham in an interview with the FIVE YouTube channel. As he sees it, every major club will inevitably join this one.

“He’s going to be one of the most sought-after players in world football next summer,” said Ornstein. “I think if he’d been available for transfer from Borussia Dortmund and he’d wanted to go this summer, then every top club would have been snapping at their feet for his services.

“You’re looking at the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United tried to get him previously. Don’t rule out the likes of Chelsea. Every club that I speak to at that high level, they love him.

“He would be their dream signing. But only one of them is going to get him at some point.”

Teams to fight Liverpool for Jude Bellingham

The way this is shaping up, signing Bellingham would be the biggest transfer in Liverpool’s history. We’re not sure there’s any doubt about that anymore.

He’s a player everybody wants and that teams will pay enormous money for. Liverpool must convince Bellingham that his career will be best in their Red than the riches others will give him.

We also imagine that City will get involved, even if Ornstein didn’t name-drop them. The Daily Mail claims they want a midfielder and that will inevitably push them towards Bellingham. He’s the midfielder everybody wants, after all.

And with good reason. Bellingham is a superstar in the making and Liverpool could justify a record price for him. 2023 promises to be an intense one.
