Sadio Mane signed a Liverpool flag that was offered to him whilst greeting Bayern Munich fans recently.
As seen in a video on Twitter, Mane was shown the Liverpool flag after stepping off the Bayern players’ coach.
Upon seeing the flag, the former Liverpool man looked a little surprised for a second. That soon gave way to a wide smile though, as he happily signed the fabric with a grin.
Nice to see. We miss you Sadio!

Mane ensuring his legacy at Liverpool remains
It isn’t a given that Mane would react in this way when presented with something from his former team.
Raheem Sterling recently made waves when he refused to sign a Manchester City shirt whilst on tour with new club Chelsea.
But with someone like Mane, it shouldn’t be a surprise. The 30-year-old is renowned for his humbleness and kindness. Instead of leaving the fan high and dry, he showed respect for his former club.
And why shouldn’t he? Liverpool were respectful of his wish to leave this summer and didn’t stand in his way of a move to Bayern.
Legendary players can often tarnish their legacy by the way they leave clubs. No doubt the likes of Fernando Torres and Michael Owen would be remembered with the affection their on-pitch contributions deserve had they not left under clouds (or signed for Manchester United!).

It’s true that Mane did say one or two questionable things in the press surrounding his exit. There was some unnecessary talk before the Champions League final and some bizarre comments whilst away in Senegal.
But he has largely been exemplary towards the club where his career will always be mostly associated with.
Should he ever return to Anfield with Bayern, or anyone else, he’ll rightly get the reception of a returning hero. As long as he never celebrates too vigorously when scoring against Liverpool, there’s no reason for that to ever change.
