Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has admitted that he’s hoping to sign Liverpool’s Owen Beck before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.
As quoted by The Bolton News, Evatt confirmed that he’s looking to bring in the Liverpool player on-loan.
“He [Beck] is a player we’re aware of and he is a player that we like. Obviously we have monitored his progress, like we have Conor [Bradley, also from Liverpool]. Our relationship [with Liverpool] is very, very, good and we understand exactly what they have got, who they have got and how they would affect what we do,” said the coach.
“There is work to be done with that one but he is a player that we are aware of and we are monitoring, so we will see what happens.”

Beck looking to link up with Bradley
In a slightly surprising turn of events, Beck has been recalled from his loan spell with Portuguese side Famalicao.
The 20-year-old was on the bench for three of Famalicao’s four games this season, but didn’t see any action. As a result, it appears that Liverpool will search for a loan spell that will guarantee more playing time.
There are reportedly two other sides in the mix for Beck, both from the Championship. That would give the left-back a chance to play at a higher level than joining Bolton.
But from a playing point of view, a move to Lancashire may be more prudent. As Evatt mentions, Liverpool have already allowed Bradley to join them this season, and he’s been a key player so far.

To have Beck patrolling the opposite flank would seem like a good idea. Both players have featured for Liverpool’s first-team and look full of energy and enthusiasm.
The most important thing at this stage of Beck’s young career is playing time. It was a brave move to head to the Portuguese top-flight, but it didn’t work out.
Instead, he should go where he has the best chance of playing. For what it’s worth, Bolton would feel like a good fit for that.
