Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley has been completely taken aback to be joint top-scorer during his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers.
Bradley scored the winner for Bolton as they beat Morecambe 1-0 last night – his second goal in as many games. Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, the Northern Ireland international said he hadn’t expected to be on the scoresheet quite so often.
“I definitely wouldn’t have been expecting to be joint top goalscorer, but I’ll take it and keep going and keep working hard,” said the 19-year-old. It was a brilliant feeling to score again and I’m just really happy with the three points.”
Bradley also outlined just how much he’s been enjoying his time at the League One side.
“I’ve loved it so far, we’ve been doing really well. We’re still undefeated, so it’s going really well. The support has been unbelievable. I know I’ve only played a couple of games here but the support has been brilliant,” he said.
Bradley looking good at Bolton
It’s great to see Bradley flourishing while out on-loan. The full-back has been regularly praised by his new manager Ian Evatt, and looks to have really taken to playing men’s football.
He seems to be playing with complete freedom, and his goal last night really spoke to his attacking instincts.
Arriving in the box as the furthest forward of any Bolton player, Bradley collected a pass with his back to goal, turned his marker and fired it in.
A completely different strike to his previous one, which was a belter from distance.
This is still early days in a very long season, but it could hardly have been a better start from Bradley. The confidence the youngster will take from it should serve him well for the rest of the campaign and beyond.
In contrast, his replacement at Liverpool, Calvin Ramsay, is still yet to get off the starting blocks. If Bradley can keep this eye-catching form going, then he should be back in the frame at Anfield next season.
