Conor Bradley scored a spectacular first senior goal on Tuesday evening as he continued an ‘excellent’ start to his loan from Liverpool.

Conor Bradley has had a brilliant start with Bolton Wanderers. The youngster has won a penalty, made an assist and featured in the League One Team of the Week already – and it’s still early days.

“I thought he was excellent, I think it was a real big test for him,” manager Ian Evatt told the Manchester Evening News. “I think physically now he’ll understand the demands of playing in that position for us.”

That position is the more advanced wing-back role, rather than the right-back role Bradley played with Liverpool. It’s safe to say that it’s paying dividends going forward, too, as he scored his first senior goal on Tuesday.

And what a goal it was. Bolton played Salford in the EFL Cup and smashed them 5-1. Bradley managed to grab headlines in amongst the goals with a thunderous 25-yard hit that flew into the far side of the net.

It was a hit that the official Bolton Twitter account absolutely loved:

Bradley desperately needed a strong loan deal this season. He was stuck as a right-back behind Trent Alexander-Arnold and Calvin Ramsay’s arrival essentially ended any first-team chances.

Fortunately, he’s got just that. The only worry at this early stage is whether League One proves to have been a step too far down the pyramid. Bradley is certainly showing already that he’s more than comfortable at that level.

But perhaps Liverpool won’t mind. Already, it seems they’ll get back a player bursting with confidence. He might even be comfortable in an extra position, given Bolton are using him as a wing-back.

Everything is incredibly positive thus far, then. We’re excited to track Bradley this season and see exactly what he can do with Bolton.

And if the result is more goals like this, his stock is going to skyrocket.
