Klopp now invites two more youngsters to Liverpool training, including 'fearless' 18-year-old winger

Jurgen Klopp has brought youngsters Mateusz Musialowski and Dominic Corness into his first-team group for pre-season training.

As seen on LFCTV’s Inside Training video, the pair were at the AXA Training Centre as Klopp added two more Liverpool youngsters to the mix.

The Reds boss had previously called up as many as 12 academy players to take a closer eye at ahead of the new season.

It was a surprise not to see Musialowski in particular as part of that group. But the young Polish winger, along with Corness, is now doing his best to impress Klopp as Liverpool gear up to go on tour next week.

Massive few weeks for Musialowski

According to liverpoolfc.com, Corness is a ‘cultured, left-footed midfielder.’ As with the other cohort of young midfielders such as Leighton Clarkson, the 19-year-old will hope to persuade Klopp that he doesn’t need to make a new signing.

More exciting though, is the inclusion of Musialowski.

Despite some clamour, the 18-year-old is yet to make his debut for the first-team. Amidst youngsters like Kaide Gordon getting a chance last season, it was expected he may make it into a matchday squad.

That never came to pass in the end. Musialowski also struggled for fitness last pre-season and so missed out on making any kind of impression. With that in mind, the next few weeks are massive for him.

Making it count in pre-season

According to Polish outlet Weszlo, the winger is attracting interest from back home in Poland this summer. It would be a real shame if he were to leave before Liverpool fans have been given a real sight of him.

He has sparkled at times since joining Liverpool and was called ‘fearless’ by Polish FA scout Przemek Soczynski via The Athletic last year.

If he can impress Klopp as much as he’s impressed Virgil Van Dijk, then he should get some minutes at some stage.

It’s never easy to predict which young players will make it out of the academy for Liverpool. In some cases, as with all young players, too much hype can lead to a bigger fall.

Musialowski looks like the real deal, though. Hopefully this is finally the youngster’s chance to make his breakthrough.
