Neco Williams’ proposed move from Liverpool to Nottingham Forest could be tied up this weekend.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Williams could be entering his last few days at Liverpool.
Forest are reportedly ‘working on’ the deal, as well as that of taking left-back Omar Richards from Bayern Munich.
No specificities are mentioned in terms of a price for Williams. But it’s previously been reported that Liverpool could be looking for up to as much as a £20m package.

Win-win-win
This is good news for Liverpool, Williams and Forest.
For The Reds, they’re set for a decent windfall on an academy product who is keen to leave. Williams gets his move ahead of the World Cup with Wales, and Forest are getting themselves an excellent young player – one who Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain described as ‘outstanding’ via liverpoolfc.com. Win-win-win.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool include any additional clauses in the deal for the 21-year-old. The Reds do like to sneak in sell-on bonuses though, and given Williams’ potential, this would seem wise.

Forest themselves recently triggered a clause which earnt Liverpool around £1.5m from the sale of Taiwo Awoniyi.
Liverpool already sorted with replacement
Perhaps Liverpool would have liked to have sorted Williams’ future out slightly earlier in the window.
The right-back was due to link-up with his teammates for pre-season this week. There has been no sightings of Williams around the AXA Training Centre, though, as he looks to complete his exit.

As for his replacement, Liverpool made sure Calvin Ramsay was through the door even before pre-season got underway. The 18-year-old now has the full preparation time as he attempts to get used to what is expected of him.
All that’s left then, is to say thank you and good luck to Neco at Forest. Not too many players make it through the academy, but he did, and won a Premier League and Club World Cup medal to boot. All the best, Neco!
