Jarell Quansah’s displays for England U19’s this summer have shown that he is ready to step up to Liverpool’s first-team.
The Liverpool youngster is excelling at the U19 European Championship, helping England to the final of the compeition.
Quansah has started all four games for England at the heart of the defence. The 19-year-old even scored the goal that sent his team to the final, popping up to head home the winner against Italy on Tuesday.
England take on Israel tomorrow evening, with Quansah once again expected to play a big role.

Quansah ready for fifth-choice role
Now nineteen, Quansah needs to start getting some first-team experience under his belt. Of course, that’s easier said than done at Liverpool. But the future’s of two fellow centre-halves this summer should give him confidence for the new season.
That’s because it looks likely that Liverpool will move along both Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips during this window. Williams looks set for a loan, while a more permanent solution could perhaps be found for his older colleague.
The pair have a special place in Liverpool fans’ hearts after their heroics in 2020/21. Jurgen Klopp called their contributions to the club ‘incredible’ via Sky Sports that season and as a result they’ve achieved something approaching cult status.

But they’re both at a stage where they too need game time. If both go, that opens up a slot for Klopp’s fifth-choice centre-back. With Quansah starting to mature nicely, it’s the perfect chance to get him involved.
Having been at club since the aged of five, he should be well-versed in Liverpool’s style of play. He has captained youth teams throughout his time at Liverpool and looks to be an excellent communicator.
The tournament this summer has given him the perfect platform to show his skills. Having been so impressive, he has made Liverpool’s decision over Williams and Phillips all the easier.
