PSV Eindhoven are making preparations for a team to trigger the release clause of Ibrahim Sangaré. Liverpool are one such team.
This comes from Eindhovens Dagblad. They claim that PSV Eindhoven now have two players in mind to replace Ibrahim Sangaré. The midfielder could well leave the club this summer and while PSV hope to keep him, they’re preparing themselves for the worst.
That’s because PSV can’t actually do much about this. As Voetbal International reports, Sangaré has a £31m release clause in his contract and all it takes is the right club to trigger it. That could be Liverpool.
The VI report claims that the Reds scouted Sangaré on several occasions over the final few weeks of the season. He’s clearly a player of interest and the £31m clause makes him a very tempting signing.
Liverpool could trigger Ibrahim Sangaré release clause
Sangaré is a very interesting target for Liverpool and one that makes a lot of sense. He’s a player who offers fantastic solidity in the middle – something the Reds’ squad could use going forward.
Especially, it should be said, in the wake of them missing out on Aurélien Tchouaméni. The Frenchman is certain to join Real Madrid, despite Liverpool being favourites as recently as last month.
We’ve written before that Sangaré is the natural next target for Liverpool and it appears that PSV worry about that. It’s sensible for them to get their house in order for such a move – especially when they can’t exactly stop it.
The next few weeks promise to be interesting, then, as Liverpool look to prepare their own squad for next season. Sangaré could be a genuine midfield target but that’s not all the Reds require. Sadio Mané’s likely exit could see a forward arrive – and potentially a very expensive one.
We could be looking at a very fresh Liverpool squad next season.
