Report: Klopp won't loan out 19-year-old Liverpool youngster, wants him to form part of Reds' attack next season

Liverpool won’t sanction a loan deal for Fabio Carvalho as they look to utilise him during 2022/23.

That’s according to The Athletic, who suggest that the Portuguese youngster will form part of Liverpool’s attack next season,.

Liverpool reportedly view Carvalho as being capable of playing ‘across the front line.’ They are also claimed to be earmarking him for an ‘advanced midfield role’ too.

There is currently said to be ‘no intention’ of letting him leave Anfield on a temporary basis.

The wait almost over for Carvalho

When a signing is done well ahead of the summer window, it can be easy to forget that it has taken place.

Many Liverpool fans will be clamouring for deals to be done over the next three months, forgetting we already have one secured.

And what a good deal too. Carvalho may not be one of the most expensive signings of the summer, but he’ll surely be one of the best value.

Liverpool have reportedly shelled out a little under £8m to take the 19-year-old from Fulham. If all goes to plan with Carvalho, he could well be worth 10 times that in a few short years.

It’s good news that this trajectory will start with a squad place next season. From watching the youngster at Fulham, he does look more like a traditional number 10 type player.

As Liverpool don’t play with such a player, it may take him a little bit of time to find his best role in Jurgen Klopp’s system.

That discovery will only happen from hours put in at the AXA Training Centre. It may be that he’s allowed to leave on loan the following year, as Harvey Elliott did in his second season.

But initially, it’s wise to let him bed in, get used to his surroundings and find his place within the squad.
