'He is a top talent': Manager is utterly convinced that rumoured Liverpool signing will have a 'brilliant career'

Rumoured Liverpool signing Fabio Carvalho will have a ‘brilliant career’, says Fulham boss Marco Silva. The 19-year-old is a ‘top talent’.

Fulham boss Marco Silva is gutted he didn’t arrive at Fulham sooner. If he had, he feels Fabio Carvalho would have signed a new contract and stayed with the club long-term.

Carvalho is out of contract this summer, allowing him to move wherever he wants. That’s reportedly Liverpool, with the Athletic claiming there’s a £7.7m deal in place. As Carvalho is a young player, the Reds would need to pay compensation to Fulham – even if they signed him on a free transfer. Negotiating a fee is a way around that.

Silva wishes that was never an option, though. He believes Carvalho is a special player and one he wants at Craven Cottage long-term.

“I think he has a brilliant career in front of him,” he said, per the Athletic. “He is a top, top talent in my opinion.

“Unfortunately for me, I probably arrived a little bit late in this football club. With more time, he would have renewed his contract before. Definitely.”

Fabio Carvalho to join Liverpool

Well, Liverpool clearly agree with Silva on this one. That’s why they’ve put so much work into signing the player and agreeing this fee beforehand – the Reds took no chances.

Not that it’s exactly a secret that Carvalho has bags of talent. He’s a 19-year-old with 10 goals and eight assists in the Championship, a player who averages over a tackle and a created chance every game. The teenager does that while playing as a no.10 and we believe Liverpool will try to use him in two different positions.

Couple that talent with Liverpool’s ability to improve players and we firmly agree with Silva, too. Carvalho is destined for a brilliant career – and thankfully, that should be at Anfield.
