Mo Salah's agent may just have posted something very encouraging for Liverpool fans on Twitter - RTK View

Mohamed Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa has posted a picture of his client sitting with Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards at the FWA awards last night.

Posting on Twitter, Abbas shared the photo from the ceremony. As well as Edwards, Abbas himself was also present alongside Liverpool legend Ian Rush and Edwards’ successor Julian Ward.

Accompanying the picture, Salah’s agent posted a smiley face emoji to complete the happy scene.

Abbas’ Twitter posts have often been far less encouraging in their tone regarding Salah’s future at Liverpool. But with all parties looking happy and relaxed, this could be a positive sign for Liverpool fans.

Salah was present to collect his FWA Player of the Year award. As the four men sat around the dinner table, maybe they got around to speaking about a certain contract renewal too.

Time to focus on the football

Inevitably, Salah was asked about his future when collecting his award at the Football Writers dinner in London.

According to The Daily Star, the Egyptian was questioned on whether he would still be around next season.

“Here on the stage or here in England? I will do my best to be on the stage,” joked Mo, somewhat evading the question.

To be honest, it’s probably better that he does evade such questions at this stage. Liverpool are within touching distance of a truly iconic season.

They don’t need the distractions of a player as influential as Salah openly discussing his future. The 29-year-old has potentially overstepped the mark on his comments at times this season.

With mere weeks to go until the end of the campaign, all focus should be on what is happening on the pitch.

Talks over the elephant in the room can wait until the summer. Salah and his agent’s relationship with key members at the club still looks to be positive. Let’s hope those niceties can translate into something concrete over the summer.
