Jurgen Klopp made comments on the Liverpool future of Mohamed Salah this morning and it appears to have sparked a reaction from the Egyptian’s agent.
Jurgen Klopp got a question today that he hasn’t had in a little while – is Mohamed Salah any closer to a new Liverpool contract? It’s an interesting time to ask it, admittedly.
Liverpool boosted their attacking with Luis Diaz and delivered a trophy in the EFL Cup last month. That, surely, convinces Salah of the ambition at Anfield.
“Mo definitely expects this club to be ambitious,” Klopp told a press conference. “We have been and we are.
“Does the signing of Luis Diaz help? I don’t think it’s about that. It is Mo’s decision. The club did what it can do. It is all fine.”
Now, those comments appear quite safe, for us. Klopp accepts what Salah would want in terms of ambition but brushes off his own thoughts on things. He feels Liverpool are doing what they can.
But does Salah’s agent disagree? He sent out a fairly cryptic Tweet this afternoon – a series of laughing emojis.
It’s hard to see that as anything but a weird little comment on Klopp – we know he’s not shy about doing such things. Which begs the question of why?

Taking that Tweet how it looks, we can only imagine it’s a comment on Klopp’s suggestion that the club has done all it can. Now, it’s difficult to comment on whether they have or not.
But Klopp believing Liverpool have, suggests they’ve put in the work here. He’d hardly stay completely out of a matter like this with the Reds’ best player.
The Mirror claimed last month, however, that said agent is using Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin De Bruyne as a benchmark in talks. They earn in and around £400k per week – an enormous amount.
The suggestion from the agent, then, could simply be that Liverpool haven’t done all they can because they haven’t met those demands. We’ll leave it up to you whether that’s right.
