Karim Adeyemi could be a bargain superstar for Liverpool – if all is as reported. The German youngster appears to be on the market.

Sky Germany put out an interesting update on Karim Adeyemi this week. The 20-year-old – regarded as one of Europe’s brightest prospects – has a deal with Borussia Dortmund.

However, Dortmund don’t have a deal with RB Salzburg and appear reluctant to meet their asking price for Adeyemi. Said price sits at around £29m – a huge amount for a player from the Austrian Bundesliga.

But then, Dortmund have had incredible success with buying from there and, specifically, Salzburg. It’s the same club that developed Erling Haaland, now shining at the Westfalenstadion.

So while there’s no agreement yet, Dortmund could still find one. They just face a race for the player as the likes of Liverpool also want Adeyemi.

Liverpool chase Karim Adeyemi

We’re big, big fans of Adeyemi after what he’s done this season. His 15 goals in 21 Bundesliga games offer a lot to like – but it’s the Champions League displays that really catch the eye.

Adeyemi won four penalties in Salzburg’s first two games in the competition this season. He’s looked electric at times, too, as teams like Sevilla struggled badly to handle him.

We imagine Liverpool loved what they saw and while Adeyemi’s numbers have dropped off since, his talent is undeniable. In fact, we believe there’s superstar-level talent there and £29m could end up being a bargain price.

There is, arguably, no better shot at a bargain superstar right now, in fact. Any 20-year-old playing like this in a top 5 league would command a price far above £29m. The fact Adeyemi plays in Austria keeps his price down but his displays in Europe show he has the talent to perform at the highest level.

Liverpool, then, must pay attention here. We think they’ll regret not pushing harder as Dortmund stall.
