Liverpool continue to pay attention to Jarrod Bowen’s progress, The Athletic write today. The comments come in a “sensible transfers” article exploring forwards Liverpool could sign this year.
The same publication revealed The Reds’ interest in Bowen last summer. There was a mixed reaction from fans at the time.

But the 25-year-old West Ham United forward has been in brilliant form over recent weeks. His electric performances and goals have propelled The Hammers into the Champions League places, as things stand.
Bowen has hit six goals and claimed seven assists in what has been the best season of his career to date.
If Liverpool didn’t already hold an interest in Bowen, it’s likely that his performances this season would have alerted them anyway.
He’s been one of the best players in the league this campaign. That may mean Liverpool face competition for his signature. It also means that what was already likely to be a big transfer fee will be growing by the week.
A very “Liverpool” signing
Bowen fits the profile of a Liverpool signing to a tee. He is still of an age where he can improve, he possesses great speed and also has excellent technical ability.

One of those metrics is likely to be pressing. Ex-West Ham striker Dean Ashton certainly rates him highly in this regard. “Bowen has been magnificent and when you’re looking at teams now that want to press from the front, he’s outstanding at it,” the pundit told talkSPORT in December.
Klopp name-checks Bowen
Crucially, Jurgen Klopp has also spoken publicly about his admiration for the forward. The Reds boss made a point of talking about Bowen prior to Liverpool’s game against West Ham.
“I like Bowen a lot, he made his way up from, was it Hull, if I’m right?”, said Klopp. (liverpoolfc.com)
“And took not too long to get there, to show exactly what kind of player he can be in the Premier League as well, made big steps.”
Bowen responded by taking Liverpool apart. The former Hull man claimed a pair of assists as his current side beat his potential future employers 3-2.

Liverpool won’t sign a player off the back of one match. But the game will have reinforced the belief that he could be the right signing.
The future of Klopp’s attacking options is well documented. With Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all already or soon-to-be in their 30’s, they need a new heir apparent. If these reports are to be believed, Bowen could be that man.
