Something big has to happen next summer. Liverpool risk being left behind unless FSG pull the cheque book out. For years we’ve heard next summer, next summer but this next summer has to be the actual next summer. According to 90Min, Liverpool have contacted Mino Raiola about signing Erling Haaland.
Striker signing needed
By the start of next season the Reds front three will all be 30-years-old.
In October of the next campaign Roberto Firmino will be 31-years-old.
It’s time to start thinking about a succession plan: Jürgen Klopp needs to build his second attacking line.
Many fans believe that an area in need of change is the central striker role.
Bobby Firmino has become an Anfield icon during his time with the club but we are due an upgrade.
The Brazilian is a creator but he isn’t that mythical 20-goal a season striker every top club needs through the middle, we’ve become too over reliant on Mo Salah.
As a result bringing in a top finisher to replace Firmino has to be a priority.
Liverpool register Erling Haaland interest
Next summer could see an all out war for one of football’s most exciting young stars.
Erling Haaland seems certain to move clubs as his release clause comes into play.
Dortmund allegedly raised the clause to £76m recently and a number of teams will be keen to activate it.
According to 90Min, Liverpool want Erling Haaland and have spoken to Mino Raiola about his transfer.
The Reds are said to have registered their interest with the agent.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool can register their interest all they like, we aren’t going to sign Haaland.
His wages will be stratospheric, as will the fee commanded by his agent.
The Reds are much more likely to move for a more affordable option such as Karim Adeyemi.
There is also, of course, the potential free transfer of Kylian Mbappe.
