Jürgen Klopp is short of a striker. As it stands there isn’t a top quality striking option in the final third and that needs to be addressed. Liverpool have been linked with Karim Adeyemi. The player’s comments have instructed the Reds as to what they need to do to sign him.
Liverpool want Karim Adeyemi
Right now Jürgen Klopp has four players covering the front three.
Well, actually, right now he has three due to Roberto Firmino’s injury.
Fitness issues could leave us short handed in the attack due to the lack of quality options.
Furthermore, of the four top players we have in the attack none of them are natural strikers.
According to Transfermarkt, Liverpool are considering a move for Karim Adeyemi.
The Reds are said to be weighing up a January move with the player valued at around £17m.
Karim Adeyemi on what he wants
Naturally, given the player’s massive potential, plenty of clubs want to sign him.
At just 19-years-old he started this season with six goals in six games for Red Bull Salzburg.
He then netted on his debut for the German senior side.
The Express has reported that Chelsea tried to sign Adeyemi in the past.
The outlet also carries quotes from the player on his future, the teenager told Sport1:
“First of all, it is important to me that I play regularly.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool desperately need a player like Karim Adeyemi.
He is young enough to arrive relatively cheap whilst also providing competition and a threat from the bench.
In addition he is a natural striker, we need to upgrade on Divock Origi as a backup option.
The need is particularly urgent given that Roberto Firmino will turn 31-years-old before the start of next season, bringing a successor in is essential.
Michael Edwards just needs to listen to his wants and needs and then means first team football.
