Some Liverpool fans think Alexander-Arnold didn't sing the national anthem

Plenty of Liverpool fans have a complicated relationship with the English national side. ‘Scouse not English’ is the go to explanation offered to furious southerners who can’t fathom why someone born in Britain wouldn’t want to support the Three Lions. As a result it’s easy to understand why so many Liverpool fans spotted Trent Alexander-Arnold apparently not singing the national anthem.

Alexander-Arnold England turmoil

The past year has been a difficult one for the Scouser in our team when it comes to the national side.

Gareth Southgate is still flipping through his contact book looking for even more right backs to call up with the boss regularly including four in his squad.

As a result one can never be sure just who the manager will land on for any game in particualr.

Last season Southgate left Trent out of an England squad with the Reds’ full back part of a side on an historic losing streak.

After that the Scouser hit his best form of the season and was included in the Euro 2020 squad.

Then disaster struck and the right back missed out on the tournament after picking up an injury in the final warm up game.

Alexander-Arnold national anthem

Some Liverpool fans believe they spotted Trent Alexander-Arnold not singing the national anthem before England kicked off against Andorra.

It’s quite hard to tell whether or not the Scouser was singing along.

He certainly wasn’t belting anything out with his lips not appearing to move.

Though the camera panned past him rather quickly and as a result we can’t make a definitive call on whether or not he joined in.

Whether he did or not, plenty of Kopites are convinced he remained silent they’re buzzing about it.
