Liverpool fans are hoping for a midfield signing this summer. The Reds have to replace Gini Wijnaldum after the Dutchman left for PSG this summer. We’ve been linked with one Barcelona youngster in particular. Pep Lijnders has said he has crazy respect for Pedri.
Liverpool linked with Pedri
This summer one midfielder has Kopites excited above all else.
In April The Mirror linked Liverpool with a move for Pedri.
The paper stated that the Reds had already made contact about a move but were quoted an astronomical £70m.
Since then Mundo Deportivo, as cited by the Daily Star, has repeated the claims of interest.
An 18-year-old who is undroppable from the Barcelona midfield it’s easy to understand why the Reds would be interested.

Pep Lijnders on Pedri
This summer saw the Spaniard’s reputation grow even further.
The wonderkid was a key member of Spain’s Euro 2020 squad and he stood out throughout their run to the quarter finals.
Writing for The Athletic, the Reds’ assistant manager Pep Lijnders was raving over Pedri:
“[Luis Enrique] deserved a medal for picking Pedri. I have crazy respect for that boy. Just 18 years old and the best young midfielder in Europe. He designed so many attacks for Spain.”
What RTK has to say
How much respect are we talking here, Pep?
Enough to spend what it takes to get him? Surely the Reds must be knocking on Barca’s door for this lad.
They know that the Spanish side have to raise funds this summer, now is the perfect time to swoop for a generational talent, fans are dying to see him at Anfield.
