Liverpool are always on the lookout for a bargain, for the right signing at the right time. The Reds have made a habit of it in recent seasons and this summer could throw up one of their best bargains yet. Liverpool need to pounce on Ilaix Moriba amid reports Barcelona may be forced to sell.
This summer could see the last days of Roma unfold at Barcelona.
The Catalan club are in financial turmoil after years and years of poor decisions.
The Athletic reported recently on just how dire the situation has become.
Barca cannot register any new signings, including Sergio Aguero, until they make savings of around £170m.
This is no small sum and the club could forced into a fire sale as a result.
The problem they have is that nobody can afford to pay their players what Barcelona are paying them.
Liverpool should swoop for Ilaix Moriba
According to The Athletic’s Spanish correspondent Dermot Corrigan, the La Liga side have been dealt an early blow in this saga.
Talented youngster Ilaix Moriba has not been called for pre-season training.
This move is allegedly amid a contract dispute with the 18-year-old prodigy.
Liverpool simply have to swoop for Ilaix Moriba if he is on his way this summer.
The teenager has the potential to be something special. Despite only turning 18 in January he made 15 appearances for the Blaugrana last term.
He is poised to kick on in the next season but he may be doing that away from Barca.
If Michael Edwards and the Reds are always on the lookout for a bargain then Liverpool have to be in the conversation for Ilaix Moriba this summer.
A gifted technician in the centre of the midfield he has the potential to be one of the great playmakers of his generation. Snapping him up on the cheap this summer would be a stroke of genius.
