Liverpool are reportedly planning on making a bid for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus in the coming weeks.
With Gini Wijnaldum departing the club for PSG, the Reds are in need of new recruits in central midfield.
SPORT1 journalist Florian Plettenberg has said that Liverpool are expected to make a concrete offer for the German.
However, the player and his club will not make a decision on his future until Germany’s Euro 2020 campaign has concluded.
Plettenberg also claims that a final decision rests in the hands of Jurgen Klopp.
Neuhaus to Liverpool seems to be edging closer
This is the latest of a long list of reports linking Neuhaus to Liverpool.
Due to the reliability of the journalists involved, we are inclined to believe that there is something to this story.
Kicker report that Monchengladbach want £34m for the midfielder. That is a very reasonable price.
He has been one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga for the last two seasons.
Neuhaus only turned 24-years-old in March, which makes him the perfect age for recruitment.
He can play numerous midfield roles, meaning he is the ideal Wijnaldum replacement.
He is currently in the Germany camp for Euro 2020. It is unlikely that he will get a whole pile of time on the pitch due to some top-class competition in the squad.
However, Liverpool fans should certainly keep an eye on Jogi Low’s side to see if this potential future Red gets any action off the bench.
