Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus is reportedly very keen to make a move to Liverpool this summer.
Reliable German football journalist Christian Falk has claimed that his countryman “has his heart set” on a switch to Anfield and that Liverpool also want him at the club.
Speaking on his Bayern Insider podcast, Falk mentioned that Neuhaus is dreaming of working under Jurgen Klopp’s tutelage.
So, the player wants to join Liverpool and Liverpool want to sign the player. This should make any potential deal relatively straightforward.
Meanwhile, Kicker have reported that the 24-year-old has a release clause of €40million (£34m).

Knowing Michael Edwards’ negotiating ability, Liverpool will probably attempt to get him for less, but £34m is by no means a bad price for such a talented midfielder.
Neuhaus was first linked to the Reds a few months ago, with the club seemingly on the lookout for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is set to leave this summer.
Other names have been linked, like Yves Bissouma and Houssem Aouar. But if Liverpool do decide that Florian Neuhaus is the man, then it will likely be the correct decision.
Neuhaus an excellent all-rounder
Florian Neuhaus is one of the best central midfielders in Germany.
Despite the presence of the likes of Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Ilkay Gundogan, Neuhaus has played five times for his country since making his debut late last year. This alone is evidence of how highly he is rated in his homeland.
The 24-year-old really is a do-it-all midfielder. He is adept in both the No 6 and No 10 roles. So, it is natural that the No 8 is his best position.
While he plays a similar role to Wijnaldum, Neuhaus looks much better on the stats sheets.
He contributes a lot more in the final third than most of Liverpool’s current midfielders. He has an impressive five goals and five assists in the Bundesliga this season.
The 1860 Munich academy graduate also takes more shots, creates more chances, attempts more long balls, completes more dribbles and makes more tackles and interceptions per 90 than Liverpool’s current No 5.
He is not just better than Wijnaldum in all of these areas. He is actually better than the majority of midfielders in Europe at these statistics.
Among central midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues, Neuhaus ranks in the 75th percentile or higher for non-penalty goals and xG, assists and xA, as well as progressive carries and passes per 90.
So he can win the ball, get it up the pitch and contribute directly to goals. Basically, everything you want in a top-level midfielder.
Importantly, has the tactical nous to match his technical gifts.
