Liverpool have suffered terribly with injuries this season. The Reds have lost key player after key player, leading to a wholly disappointing campaign. Thankfully, Diogo Jota and Jordan Henderson were named in the squad to face Crystal Palace today, handing the Reds a big boost for next season.

Injury hit season
The Reds stormed to the Premier League title last term.
Jürgen Klopp’s side put in one of the great title winning campaigns and were expected to fight tooth and nail to retain their crown.
Then injuries came along and derailed the whole thing.
In October we saw Virgil van Dijk ruled out for the season whilst Thiago picked up a 10 week stay on the sidelines in the same game.
A few weeks later Joe Gomez picked up his own season ending knee injury.
Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson all endured their own length spells on the sidelines.
Although the lads struggled to top the table at Christmas the crisis caught up with them in January and the house of cards came tumbling down.
Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota return
The Reds took on Crystal Palace today with Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota back in the squad.
The duos return handed Liverpool a huge boost ahead of next season.
Whilst neither player was pencilled in to miss the start of next term both players have endured serious injuries during this season.
Having both players back for the final day is a solid indicator that they are both on track to be fit and ready for the 2021/22 campaign.
If we are going to reclaim our crown next season then we’re going to need Jota and Hendo fighting fit.
The fact that Jota managed to get a run out towards the end was massively encouraging, showing us that this won’t be a long term, niggling and recurring problem.
