Liverpool are going to have to make some decisive moves in the transfer market this summer. Michael Edwards has some task on his hands making sure we don’t see a repeat of this season. With a high profile star set to leave a signing in midfield is essential. Kopites have been buzzing on Twitter amid reports that alleged Liverpool target Yves Bissouma has asked to leave Brighton.
Midfield signings needed
This summer we’re expecting a changing of the guard in the middle of the park.
There are doubts around the future of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with the pair once again spending a good chunk of the season out injured.
Furthermore Gini Wijnaldum is set to leave the club on a free transfer.
The Dutchman’s contract expires in the summer and Barcelona appear well poised to snap him up.
Since joining the Reds in 2016 no other player has played more minutes in Jürgen Klopp’s midfield.
Given that we’re set to lose an undroppable member of the midfield and could well move on another one or two squad members, signing reinforcements appears inevitable.
Liverpool target Yves Bissouma asks to move
There are plenty of midfielders being touted as potential targets.
The Reds have been linked with a swoop for Florian Neuhaus at Borussia Monchengladbach.
There have also been suggestions of a move for Lorenzo Pellegrini at Roma.
One name keeps on cropping up and he could be the more realistic option.
According to The Times, Liverpool hold a strong interest in Yves Bissouma.
The report, by Duncan Castles, also states that the Malian has asked to leave Brighton in the summer amid Anfield interest.
Jürgen Klopp is said to be asking around about the midfielder’s character in an effort to assess whether he’d be a proper fit for the squad.
According to Castles the midfielder would be available for around £30m.
Interest in the box-to-box man is thought to be intensifying with Manchester City, Arsenal and Olympique Marseilles also queuing up for his signature.
Twitter reacts to update
Fans are excited about the prospect of Liverpool signing Yves Bissouma.
Plenty will remember his dominant display in the midfield when the Reds visited the Amex earlier this season.
