Gini Wijnaldum is keeping all his options open this summer, according to his agent Humphry Nijman.

In an interview with Sport1, Nijman also issued an apparent “come and get me” plea to Bayern Munich.

The agent said: “Wijnaldum is a free transfer and keeps all options open.

“FC Bayern is a great club. If you are interested in him, please feel free to speak to us.”

As the season draws to a close, Wijnaldum’s future still remains up in the air.

With his contract up next month, it looks like the Dutchman will leave Liverpool after five seasons at the club.

While it is not impossible that he signs a new deal at Anfield, his agent’s latest comments mean that it looks incredibly unlikely at this stage.

Wijnaldum would be a good fit at Bayern

While Barcelona and PSG have been the two most hotly-tipped destinations for Wijnaldum, a move to Bayern Munich would also make sense.

With Julian Nagelsmann taking over in the summer, the Bavarians are going to need some experienced players to help the transition into a new system.

Wijnaldum is one of the most tactically intelligent players around. He would be well-capable of carrying out the mid-game system changes that Nagelsmann likes to enact.

Bayern need some central midfielders, with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka the only two top-notch players at the club in those positions.

Corentin Tolisso is too injury-prone. Marc Roca has failed to excite.

Wijnaldum’s experience and versatility would make him an excellent acquisition on a free.

If they could also sign a youngster like Eduardo Camavinga, Bayern’s midfield depth would look a lot stronger.

Bayern may have no interest in signing Wijnaldum. But as we say, they really should have.

One thing for certain is that it looks like the player himself fancies a move there.
