Liverpool have joined the race to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, according to reports.
This comes from German publication Kicker. They say Jurgen Klopp could look to the Bundesliga if Liverpool are to lose Gini Wijanldum at the end of the season.
The Dutchman, after all, is still yet to agree on fresh terms with the Reds, with his current contract at Anfield due to expire at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Neuhaus, 23, represents a viable long-term replacement given his impact with Gladbach this season. In 19 Bundesliga appearances, the former Düsseldorf talisman has clocked up four goals and the same number of assists.
Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, too, are also reportedly interested in landing the three-time Germany international, per Sport 1.

Manchester City and Juventus are among the other European heavyweights expected to be in the mix come to the summer.
What RTK has to say
Inevitably, as with most of the club’s transfer dealings, any current interest Liverpool withhold in Neuhaus will eventually come down to price.
The report from Germany claims that he has a £35.5 million release clause inserted into his current Gladbach deal.
This is quite a modest asking-price given Neuhaus’ versatility. Similarly to Fabinho, Klopp typically prefers players who can operate in a variety of positions for the team.
Also, compared to Wijnaldum, he also boasts an impressive statistical output in front of goal, too. The Liverpool No.5 is still without a Premier League assist, after all, since April 2018.
So, it’s looking increasingly likely that Liverpool will need another midfield addition come July. Neuhaus, then, could be an ideal option to explore, especially when you consider his moderate release clause.
