Florian Neuhaus could offer wonderful value to Liverpool going forward. The Reds supposedly like the player.
Abendzeitung reports that Florian Neuhaus is available for £34m this summer. Pay that and the player is yours, so they say.
It’s something that interests Bayern Munich but could also grab Liverpool’s attention.
Bild claimed this year that the Reds were looking at Neuhaus for the summer. And with good reason – in fact, the player represents incredible value to Liverpool.
Liverpool need to replace Gini Wijnaldum for next season. The Dutchman is almost certainly leaving Anfield once his contract expires in June.

He’s not an easy player to replace, however. Wijnaldum has been key to the team over the last five years.
Fortunately, Liverpool don’t need a first-team replacement. We imagine Fabinho, Thiago and Jordan Henderson are the planned first-choice for next season.
That means the club can instead focus on a long-term signing. Someone who is ready to take over from Thiago and Henderson as both push into their 30s.
Neuhaus, then, feels perfect. He’s a player who can already deliver at the top level, with years of Bundesliga experience and caps for Germany.
That allows him to take Wijnaldum’s role of ‘first backup’. It’s a role that demands lots of games, even if you’re not quite one of the superstars.
But having just turned 24 also means Neuhaus has room to grow. He’s not yet the finished article, which is what you’d want when signing from Gladbach.
Neuhaus isn’t quite experienced enough when it comes to winning trophies. It’s something you’d want him to learn after taking a step up but as we say, he’s young enough to have the room to do that.
It’s how Liverpool built their squad. They’ve signed players just a level below the top but young enough to kick on further. And it’s worked.
Neuhaus fits that bill. In fact, he fits the bill is just about every way.
Averaging over 1.5 tackles and interceptions per game, Neuhaus could take over Wijnaldum’s defensive work. But he’s also got seven goals and four assists this season – he can deliver going forward, too.
He’s versatile, hard-working and ready to play. For £34m, that feels like a steal. We’re not sure Liverpool can find better value.
