Alan Shearer hailed Trent Alexander-Arnold this week. He believes the Liverpool star has developed ‘an art’.
While some may not be too high on Trent Alexander-Arnold right now, Alan Shearer certainly isn’t one of them. He labelled the Liverpool star the country’s best full-back.
This comes right after Gareth Southgate left Alexander-Arnold out of his England side. There are also claims that he may not go to the Euros.
Shearer, though, still sees the Scouser as England’s best available right-back.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold, already a Premier League winner. In my opinion the best right-back in the country,” he told the Premier League YouTube channel.

“He’s not hit the heights of last season when Liverpool won the title, but he’s still a massive talent thanks to his pace, transitional play, and ability to put exceptional crosses into the box.
“Look at this moment against Man City, one of his trademark crosses from deep, it’s a skill he perfected last term.
“He did the same against Arsenal for Andy Robertson and it resulted in a goal. Not many players can whip in balls like that, but it’s an art Trent has perfected.”
What RTK has to say
We fully agree. As we’ve written before, it’s truly shocking how underrated Alexander-Arnold still is.
What more does he have to do, exactly?
He’s won virtually everything at club level, broken records, made world teams of the year and he’s not yet 23. Alexander-Arnold is a truly incredible young talent.
Yet, somehow, not good enough for England. We can only hope he turns this around and uses it as motivation to reach new heights.
That’s the positive we can see – other than the rest at international breaks.
But at the end of the day, as long as he keeps delivering the game’s biggest trophies, we’re happy to keep Alexander-Arnold to ourselves.
