Liverpool have become a dominant force in football in recent seasons. Jürgen Klopp has masterminded the Reds to becoming Champions of Everything in the last couple of seasons. This type of success requires not only a quality squad but also a bond within that squad, a bond that has been highlighted by a message Jordan Henderson has sent to Dejan Lovren.
To Russia with Lov
Whenever talking about Dejan Lovren signing for Zenit I will use the subheading To Russia with Lov and you cannot stop me.
This summer the Reds sold their Croatian centre back to the Russian side for a fee of £10.9m.
The move made sense for all involved; the player is a World Cup Finalist and he had become fourth choice at Anfield – he deserves to be playing regular first team football and he is doing so in Russia.
Henderson message to Lovren
Following his departure from the club Jordan Henderson sent Dejan Lovren a letter and a gift.
In his parting message the skipper tells the Croatian how distraught he is that Degsy won’t be returning to training this year.
Hendo goes on to thank the defender for his contributions, telling Dejan he was a captain without needing an armband.
Kopites react to tearjerker
It’s safe to say that the message has struck a chord with the fans, many all of a sudden have something in their eye.
There’s something in my eyes😭

The skipper is well aware of just how important the defender was to the squad.
Hendo knows we are missing a valuable figure in the dressing room. Not everything can’t be seen on the pitch. I hope we respect Dejan more after this

Fans were impressed by the show of solidarity.
That’s just pure quality and shows the level of the squad mentality we currently have

The skipper was praised for his professionalism.
Shows what a true family bond the Reds instill and how important Dej was. Incredible professionalism from an incredible skipper.

Of course, we have a couple of people to thank for their incredible foresight when selecting Hendo as skipper.
Gerrard and Rodgers had foresight when they choosed Hendo as our Captain pre-Klopp era. Absolute class.
