Liverpool fans are still on a high having seen their club lift the top flight title for the first time in 30 years. It felt like a dream, it had been so long and then Jürgen Klopp came along and did the impossible. It was an emotional night for all involved, from the players to the staff to the fans, everybody felt it. It turns out that one player in particular got a bit carried away, Dejan Lovren has admitted that he travelled to Anfield to celebrate with the fans.
To Russia with Lov
Ok this might be the fifth time I’ve used that subheading but I just cannot resist it.
The Reds recently sold Dejan Lovren to Zenit in Russia with the Eastern Europeans paying £10.9m for the defender.
It was good business all round, we got a handsome fee for an ageing defender and he gets to play regular footy again.
Lovren title win admission
Liverpool were confirmed as champions of England when Chelsea beat Manchester City in late June.
The Reds squad and staff were gathered at a hotel in the city to watch the game and celebrate at full time.
Given the global health crisis fans were ordered to stay at home but there was still a large gathering at Anfield, players were warned not to attend.
In a recent interview Dejan Lovren has revealed that he went to the ground masked up in order to revel in the emotion of the night.
Kopites react to news
Some were undecided on the news. It was a heartfelt gesture by the defender but in the current climate not a wise gesture at all.
Mixed emotions. Lovely gesture and I wish the whole squad could have, but Lovren has also been undermining Covid since we went into lockdown and this is right on par with his notions, mask or no mask.

He’s been described as ‘stupidly selfish’ in some corners.
I like Dejan but this was a stupidly selfish move. If he got the virus, he would’ve brought it to the whole group. Could’ve had big effects on the completion of the season.

If the boss had found out he may have met the same fate as the mischievous Mamadou Sakho..
If he didn’t leave by his own volition, Klopp would’ve definitely Sakho’d him after this. Rather silly behaviour.

Some fans were delighted by the news.
I miss him already man

He may not have been our best defender ever but he was proud to be a Red.
I think this is where lovren steals my heart. He certainly loved the club. He didn’t have the full skills but he had the emotions.

And of course, the real stars of the show…the people who didn’t grass him up.
Shout out to those 4 people that saw him but never ratted him out for clout or whatever. #YNWA
