Liverpool and Timo Werner. Timo Werner and Liverpool. Two things that just go together, you know? We won’t shut up about this transfer until it happens and thankfully we’ve been given even more to shout about as Sport1 have claimed that Liverpool could get Timo Werner for €20m less than previously reported figures.

Werner has been linked with a move to Anfield for eternity due to his goal scoring prowess and the manner in which his style of play suits Jürgen Klopp’s philosophy.

So far this season the German forward has bagged 21 goals in 23 German Bundesliga games, notching seven assists along the way.

In the Champions League the 23-year-old has bagged four in six, with one assist.

The last couple of weeks has seen the striker flirting with the club in the media, stating he is flattered by The Reds’ interest and claiming that Jürgen Klopp is the best coach in the world.

Previous reports have suggested that Liverpool needed to seal a deal for Timo Werner by April in order to take advantage of a €50m release clause.

However, Sport1 have now claimed that his release clause is in fact €20m less than previously touted figures.

What RTK has to say

If Liverpool can bag Werner for just €30m then we may be set to pull off one of the transfer coups of the decade.

At just 23-years-old there is no telling just how far the striker can come under Jürgen Klopp and given that Newcastle United paid £40m for Joelinton, bagging Timo for €30m would be downright ludicrous. Bite their hand off.
