Our society clings on to love stories, no matter how rubbish they are we just have a soft spot for them – how else do you explain Twilight’s commercial success? Thankfully there is another love story emerging, and we’re sure that there can be few better love stories than that of Timo Werner and Jürgen Klopp.

The Reds have been linked with Werner for forever and a day.

The German international has been steadily establishing himself as one of the most deadly goal scorers in Europe.

This season the 23-year-old has 21 goals in 23 appearances in the league, with seven assists to boot.

His Champions League record is also impressive, with four goals in six.

Following a week in which the German admitted that he is flattered by Liverpool’s reported interest, Timo Werner has issued a claim about Jürgen Klopp that we feel is nothing short of a ‘come and get me plea’.

The RB Leipzig forward told Sky Germany:

“Jurgen Klopp is the best coach in the world. There is a lot to suggest that my style of play would suit there (Liverpool).”

What RTK has to say

Come on. I mean, come on.

Surely this has to happen? If this doesn’t happen then we can expect something truly special instead. I’m talking Kylian Mbappe is the only reason this move won’t happen.

The player clearly wants to play for Jürgen Klopp, for Liverpool. We can afford him, he fits our style of play.

This just has to happen. Fingers crossed we will see him offering the Liverpool attack a new dimension next season.
