This summer saw Liverpool exercise restraint in the transfer market. With the club winning the Champions League and finishing with a records point total in the Premier League the thinking was that there was no need for a drastic overhaul. One player that did come in has been heaping praise on the gaffer, Adrian has described the achievements of Jürgen Klopp as ‘extraordinary’.

The Reds signed Adrian on a free transfer over the summer after Aaron Cresswell recommended the shot stopper to John Achterberg.

The Spaniard was thrust into the first team much sooner than expected when Alisson Becker pulled up lame on the opening day against Norwich.

Given that Adrian was brought in as a backup keeper he wouldn’t have been expecting a two month stint as the first choice goalie but he impressed during his time in the net.

Speaking to the BBC, Adrian has opened up on life under Jürgen Klopp. He told the Beeb:

“What Jurgen has achieved here is extraordinary. He’s always smiling, cheerful, optimistic. He’s the manager but he behaves like any other member of the team.

“Him being close to us helps us believe in his methods…Training sessions are intense. He does his job passionately and that’s exactly how we perform on the pitch.

“Jurgen is not only a top strategist, but also a great person. The best group management I’ve seen.”

What RTK has to say

It is no secret that the motivational skills of Jürgen Klopp have been at the heart of the Liverpool revolution.

The German restored a good feeling to Anfield, he helped rejuvenate the connection between the fans and the players.

Adrian’s words show that it is not just an act as some of his detractors claim – the boss is as intense on the training pitch as he is in the dugout and that appears to be a key to the club’s success.

By establishing a tight bond with his players Klopp has managed to coax them into running through walls for him and each other, making this side unbeatable.
