Saturday afternoon sees the Reds return to Premier League action, high off a midweek win that saw them top their Champions League group. With the first team put through their paces in Austria, we expect a host of changes for the weekend – a team that looks a lot like the one that started the Merseyside Derby. This is our predicted Liverpool lineup to face Watford:

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker

Ali was sensational in midweek. The Brazilian proved just why he is the world’s best keeper.

Right back: Trent Alexander-Arnold

The Scouser in our team was solid in midweek, if it wasn’t for the Dejan Lovren injury we’d have expected him to drop to the bench for a rest.

Centre back: Virgil van Dijk

Virgil kept the phenomenal Erling Håland quiet on Tuesday, he won’t have much to do on Saturday.

Centre back: Joe Gomez

The England defender will be hoping to cement a place in the first team with Dejan Lovren injured.

Left back: Andy Robertson

The Scotsman never gets a day off.

Centre midfield: James Milner

Milly will likely step into the side to give the skipper a rest.

Centre midfield: Gini Wijnaldum

Solid as ever against Salzburg, the Dutchman shouldn’t have too much pressing to do against Watford.

Attacking midfield: Adam Lallana

Lallana was impressive against Everton, he should get another shot against the struggling Hornets.

Right wing: Xherdan Shaqiri

The Swiss international netted when he started in the Merseyside Derby – he will be vital this December.

Striker: Divock Origi

Big Div scored two fantastic goals in his last outing, more of the same will be expected.

Left wing: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Ox has been in fine form since returning to the side. There should be space for him to exploit this weekend.
