Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp have been warring for years. The two have an intense competitive rivalry but their respect for one another is undeniable. This is not one of the bitter feuds that has characterised football over the years, this is two geniuses giving each other their all. With both men honoured at the FWA Awards, Pep Guardiola offered Jürgen Klopp an audacious swap deal.
The Spaniard took to the stage and as part of his speech he joked “I would like to win [the Champions League trophy] and I’m pretty sure [Jürgen] would like to win [the Premier League], maybe we can swap?”

This may be an audacious swap deal but it is perhaps one that the German would take this year.
It is no secret that Liverpool are desperate for a Premier League trophy. Anfield has been starved of top division success for 30 years. This season looks like it is the Reds best chance in decades. Jürgen Klopp has put his side eight points clear at the top of the table, nine points clear of champions Manchester City.
However, one question is key to this hypothetical swap deal. Would Kopites give Manchester City a Champions League in order to guarantee the Premier League?
We are already in a strong position domestically and the Citizens winning Europe’s top prize as a nightmare for Scousers. If they actually achieved that then we lose one of our favourite jibes – though, they do have a lot of ground to make up.
