Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were mortal enemies when they were still playing. The pair were epitomised each of their clubs, embodying the spirit of the fans on the pitch. Since retiring the two defenders have formed a dynamic punditry partnership. On Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show, Gary Neville named two Liverpool players in his team of the decade.
Jamie Carragher posted the pair’s picks for the ultimate XI of the decade on his Twitter:

What RTK has to say
It looks like Jamie is still annoyed at Luis Suarez for missing the start of the 2013/14 campaign.

Gary Neville picking two Liverpool players in his team of the decade isn’t surprising. Although he was staunchly anti-Scouse during his playing career, he has proven to be a sensible pundit with keen insight.
Perhaps the one problem with each of the pundit’s sides is the omission of Andy Robertson. Is Cesar Azpilicueta really better than Robbo? The Spaniard may be marginally better defensively but he has nowhere near the same threat a the Scotsman going forward. If Virgil van Dijk can make the side based on two seasons’ form, so can Robbo.
Luis Suarez thoroughly deserves his place in the side. There has never been a player in the Premier League like him, during the 2013/14 season he turned football into theatre, it was a joy to watch and we won’t see his like again for some time.
