Liverpool are flying high in the Premier League this season. The Reds are eight points clear at the top of the table having dropped just two points in a possible 39. With his former club performing fantastically in the league, Luis Suarez has had his say on Liverpool in the title race. His comments reek of bitterness and jealousy.
Speaking to ESPN, Luis Suarez said of Liverpool:
“They have a nice advantage at the moment and with this current Liverpool side, it’s complicated [to imagine] them letting that slip. But we all know how football is.They had a similar advantage at one stage last season and, in the end, Manchester City won the league. We were close to winning the league at Liverpool with young players. We almost managed it without the budget they have today. Given everything Liverpool are now, to have won it then would have had more merit.”
What RTK has to say
Jürgen Klopp has been at Anfield for 4 years, in that time he has a net spend of around £67.5m. For the period of 2012-14, Liverpool had a net spend of around £75m. The Uruguayan’s comments about budget are simply untrue, embarrassingly wrong in fact.

Last season Luis Suarez was knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool in spectacular fashion. When he was playing for the Reds he fell short of the Premier League title. He is clearly very bitter and jealous that the club are set to achieve what they couldn’t when he was in the side.
To imply that if his side won the title it would have been with more merit is just bonkers. For starters, his squad cost the club more. Furthermore, they were not competing with the Manchester City side of today – a side that were the first to amass 100 points in the Premier League.
If anything, I pity you Luis. It must be tough watching how unstoppable we are now, without you.
