Liverpool are lucky enough to have the world’s best goalkeeper in their net. Alisson Becker has been showered with praise and awards in recent months, all deserved. Despite the Brazilian being immovable and Adrian having proved himself a worthy deputy, Liverpool are tracking Ugurcan Cakir of Trabzonspor according to the player’s agent.
Engin Kirkpinar told Turkish-football.com: “Liverpool are one of four English sides keeping close tabs on Ugurcan, they have been monitoring his progress. Trabzonspor value Cakir as being worth a minimum £18m, and will not sell him in January. An end-of-season move could however be on the cards.”
What RTK has to say
If Liverpool sign Ugurcan Cakir then it would be a huge statement of intent. Adrian performed impressively during his stint in goal whilst our number one was injured. Alisson is in his prime and looks as though he won’t be dislodged for years to come.
For the Reds to sign another keeper would be a belt and braces approach, or a financial move. It wouldn’t be out of the question to see Liverpool sign Ugurcan Cakir only to loan him out, develop him and make a profit on him in the future.

This seems to be the only logical reason for any Anfield interest. Caoimhin Kelleher is highly rated by the coaching staff, to bring in a 23-year-old keeper wouldn’t make much sense.
If anything, these rumours smack of the agent trying to get his player a new deal at Trabzonspor or spark a bidding war in England. Either way, it would be a surprise if the Reds were involved.
