Liverpool are blessed with a number of seriously talented right-backs.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the world’s best at just 21-years-old. But, beyond him, Jurgen Klopp now has three potential back-ups should he need them.

Joe Gomez is perfectly capable of covering at right-back should he need to. However, during the League Cup games this season two further options have emerged.

Both Ki-Jana Hoever and Neco Williams have looked good in their single starts for Liverpool but who looked better?

The 17-year-old right back made his second appearance for the club against MK Dons in September.

Hoever enjoyed a perfect game on paper. The Dutch prodigy kept a clean sheet and even got a goal for himself in the 2-0 away win.

James Milner crossed into the box for Hoever to head home his first Liverpool goal at any level.

With that he became the fourth youngest goal-scorer in Reds history.

Overall his play was great in the game and showed exactly why Liverpool fans are so excited about his potential.

The young full-back would have started against Arsenal but was unavailable. Hoever is currently away with the Dutch U17 side, providing a great opportunity for Neco Williams to come in.

Neco Williams seized his opportunity to start in the Carabao Cup against Arsenal.

As a defender, conceding five goals on your debut is the stuff of nightmares. Williams struggled at times to contain the Arsenal attacks that often come down his side. However, his overall performance was impressive; he kept his head up and proved vital to Liverpool in the end.

The 18-year-old dug out a cross for Divock Origi to scissor kick home and force a penalty shootout.

It may have been the Belgian who scored, but Williams took the glory as he was mobbed by his Liverpool teammates.

Both Hoever and Williams looked great in their lone Liverpool starts this season. It will be a tough call for who will get the nod when the Reds play Aston Villa in the next round.
