This weekend is a great weekend to be a Liverpool fan. The Reds are set to visit their fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday, the Anfield side are – for once – firm favourites to win the tie. Jürgen Klopp’s team are top of the table with an 8 point lead whilst Ole Gunnar Solskjaer languishes in 12th place. With the Reds set to cruise to victory at Old Trafford, we look at 3 Liverpool players that will dominate against Man United.

Sadio Mane
The Senegalese winger is the Reds top scorer in the league this season. Mane has been in electric form and was recently endorsed by Thiago Silva to be in the discussion for the Ballon d’Or this year. He is likely to come up against Ashley Young – Mane’s electric pace will surely expose the ageing United defender. Diogo Dalot is another option at right back but the Portuguese full back lacks the experience to contend with Mane.
Fabinho
Man United have looked impotent in midfield as of late and as a result they won’t be looking forward to facing the best defensive midfielder in the world. If Paul Pogba is cleared to play, Reds fans can be assured that Fabinho won’t be letting the Frenchman out of his sight. The Brazilian will be key to cutting short any of United’s (sure to be rare) ventures forward.
Mo Salah
There are reports that Luke Shaw could return for Man United at the weekend. The English defender has struggled greatly with injuries but was named United’s player of the year last season. Shaw has never been the quickest of players and if he returns, coming back off injury, he will struggle to deal with the speed and agility of Mo Salah.
