Today marks the first visit of Brendan Rodgers to Anfield since his sacking in October 2015. The Northern Irishman brings with him a Leicester side performing well above expectations. The Foxes currently sit 3rd in the Premier League. The Reds are without Joel Matip for the tie and there are still question marks over the fitness of Alisson Becker. Here is the confirmed Liverpool lineup to face Leicester.
Goalkeeper – Adrian
The Spaniard keeps his place for one last game before Alisson returns after the international break.
Right back – Trent Alexander-Arnold
The young Scouser keeps his place in the Liverpool lineup v Leicester, he is in contention for the Premier League goal of the month for September.
Centre beck – Virgil van Dijk
Despite a rare off day for the Dutchman midweek, we have every faith he will keep Jamie Vardy at bay.
Centre back – Dejan Lovren
With Joel Matip still unavailable, the Croatian international returns to the Liverpool lineup for the Leicester tie.
Left back – Andy Robertson
The Scotsman scored midweek and will be crucial to pinning back Leicester’s Ricardo Pereira.
Defensive midfield – Fabinho
Liverpool’s leggy Brazilian will be pivotal in preventing James Maddison from getting going today.
Centre midfield – James Milner
After Jordan Henderson was hooked midweek Milner restored some sanity to the midfield, hopefully he can repeat this against Leicester.
Centre midfield – Gini Wijnaldum
The Dutchman will have to be at his industrious best as the Foxes look to break quickly.
Left wing – Sadio Mane
Electric midweek, Mane could prove too much for Ricardo Pereira.
Firmino role – Roberto Firmino
Bobby laid on 2 assists against Red Bull Salzburg. Maybe he should bag one for himself today.
Right wing – Mo Salah
The Egyptian king returned to form midweek, bagging two against the Austrian visitors.
