It finally happened. The goal we didn’t even know we were waiting for. One of our full backs assisted the other. Last night Andy Robertson scored with a tidy finish at the near post, following a drilled cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold which capped a gorgeous flowing move by the Reds. The Andy Robertson goal will be seared into our memories for years.

It was Liverpool’s second strike of the evening. The Reds ran out eventual 4-3 winners over Red Bull Salzburg. Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Jürgen Klopp’s side before he was followed by an Andy Robertson goal and a Mo Salah brace, the home side’s goal glut was interrupted by a spirited comeback by the visitors. When 3-0 down, Salzburg clawed their way back into the game, a combination of sloppy defending and lethal counter attacking helped the Austrian side level the game at 3-3. However, Jesse Marsch’s side were left heartbroken as Mo Salah tucked away a Bobby Firmino header to restore Liverpool’s lead.
