3 Liverpool players guaranteed to make a difference this weekend

Liverpool journey to South Yorkshire this weekend to take on Premier League new boys Sheffield United. The Blades have had a decent start to life upon their return to English football’s top flight. They currently find themselves 10th, 12 points behind unstoppable leaders, Liverpool. We take a look at 3 of Jürgen Klopp’s players that could be the difference as the two sides meet at Bramall Lane.

The magic Brazilian has made light work of tricky defences as late. He has been finding a way to unlock the opposition back line every time, his flick to Mo Salah against Newcastle United being the best example so far this season. With Sheffield United looking to sit back against the Reds, we will need his flair to help us find a way through.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

The young scouser had a stellar game against Chelsea. He scored a belter from a freekick early on against the Blues and was defensively sound throughout, showing pace to burn to make a number of recoveries. We will be relying on Trent’s crossing from deep this weekend. The deeper that the hosts sit against Liverpool, the easier it will be for Alexander-Arnold to pick out a player in the box unpressed.

Hopefully the Guinean midfielder will be able to build on his midweek start against MK Dons. He showed against the Dons his eagerness to drive forward with the ball and beat the man sitting on the edge of the box. With Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder threatening a “back 10” against Klopp’s men, the Reds will need a midfielder willing to provide a creative spark.
