Liverpool are reportedly looking into the signing of Almeria forward Sergio Arribas after a prolific season in La Liga 2.
The Reds are keen to make more forward additions after already sealing the signing of Victor Munoz, and according to Spanish outlet Ideal, Arribas is now on their radar.
Like Munoz, Arribas came through the ranks at Real Madrid, playing 14 times for Los Blancos, scoring once, before moving to Almeria in 2023. And having hit 25 goals in the second division in 2025/26, Liverpool‘s interest has reportedly been piqued. But who is Arribas, and what would he bring to the Reds?

What kind of player is Arribas?
According to Ideal, Liverpool are looking for ‘young players with room for growth and the ability to make a difference in attack’ this summer. They claim that Arribas fits this profile ‘perfectly.’
However, with the Spaniard set to turn 25 at the end of September, he is not especially young anymore.
Nevertheless, he is certainly a player who can make a difference in attack, having battered in 26 goals across all competitions last season. That was a remarkable improvement from Arribas, who scored a combined 18 goals across each of the two previous campaigns, one of which was in La Liga.
Though he can play in an attacking midfield role, Arribas is a left-footed right winger, exactly the kind of profile Liverpool could be looking for this summer.

Standing just 5 feet 6 inches tall, Arribas is a diminutive player, but he is relatively quick, fast with his feet, and very good in front of goal.
After supplementing his tally with 10 penalty kicks in 25/26, he is also adept at scoring from the spot.
Arribas’ haul of seven assists also shows that he can create as well, even if it is not quite his biggest strength.
The former Real Madrid man scored five of his 15 La Liga 2 goals from open play with his right foot and two with his head, suggesting that he is fairly well-rounded as a goal-scorer as well.
Why did Arribas leave Real Madrid?
As per Madrid Universal in 2023, Arribas had been ‘heralded as one of the finest youth products’ at Real Madrid during his 10 years with the Spanish giants.
He is also said to have shone during his time with Real Madrid Castilla as well, for whom he officially scored 41 goals in 93 appearances for.

But despite his promise, it is claimed that Arribas left due to the competition for places in his position.
It was reportedly agreed that the then 21-year-old’s development would be better served by getting regular game time elsewhere.
That is what he has done over the past three years, and though it would feel like a big, big jump from the Spanish second division to Liverpool, Arribas clearly has something.
As they did with Munoz, Madrid retain first refusal on the Almeria man, who reportedly has a €40m release clause in his contract.
